Privacy Policy

Medical Disclaimer. SimplyFit is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise, or health routine.

The short version

You can use SimplyFit without an account. If you do, everything you log stays on your phone, exactly as it always has.

If you create an account, your training and nutrition data is backed up to our servers so you can get it back on a new phone. If you use progress photos, those are stored in your own private space on our servers too. We use this data to run the app and to improve the training programs we build — we do not sell it, we do not show ads, and we do not hand it to advertisers. You can export it or delete the whole account from inside the app at any time.

If you give a coach your client code, that coach can read your food, weight and workout numbers — never your photos, and they can never change anything. Nobody sees anything until you hand over the code, and you can cut a coach off at any time from Plan ▸ Settings ▸ Coach Access. See section 3.

Who we are

SimplyFit ("we", "us") is a fitness and nutrition tracking app, operated from the Philippines and available internationally through Google Play and Huawei AppGallery. For anything about this policy or your data, email simplyfitsupport@gmail.com.

1. Using SimplyFit without an account

An account is optional. Without one, your profile and goals, workouts, food and macro logs, body-weight entries, routines, saved meals, progress photos, and any Coach Mode clients are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. We cannot see any of it, and we hold no copy. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, it is gone permanently and we cannot restore it.

Even without an account, the app makes the limited network connections described in sections 5, 6 and 7 — Pro purchases, unlock codes, barcode lookups, the AI meal-photo checker, and anonymous usage counts.

Your watch or fitness tracker (Health Connect and Apple Health)

You can choose to connect a watch or fitness tracker so SimplyFit can show the steps you have taken and the calories you have burned today. This is entirely optional and switched off unless you turn it on in Plan ▸ Settings.

If you turn it on, SimplyFit reads two things from your phone's health app — Health Connect on Android, Apple Health on iPhone: your step count and your active calories burned. We read only — SimplyFit never writes anything back to Health Connect or Apple Health, and never changes anything on your watch. These numbers are shown on your Today screen and nowhere else: they are not stored by the app, not included in your account backup, and never sent to our servers or to anyone else. Nothing about your watch or health data is used for advertising or sold, ever, and none of it is used to decide anything about you.

You can stop it at any time by switching it off in Plan ▸ Settings, which stops SimplyFit reading immediately. To withdraw the permission itself: on Android, open the Health Connect app and remove SimplyFit's access there; on iPhone, open the Health app, tap your picture at the top right, then Privacy ▸ Apps, and turn SimplyFit off.

2. Creating an account

To create an account you give us an email address. We send a short numeric code to that address to confirm it is yours. There is no password.

We store your email address, the date you created the account, and the fact that you agreed to this policy. Your email is used to sign you in, to reach you about your account or a security issue, and to answer you if you contact support. We do not send marketing email unless you separately ask for it.

3. What an account backs up

Once you have an account, the information you already keep in the app is copied to our servers so it survives a lost or replaced phone:

This is health and fitness information about you. It is stored under your account, readable only by you (and by us where necessary to run and support the service), and it is never published and never sold. The one way any of it reaches another person is if you give a coach your client code — described immediately below.

Sharing your data with a coach

SimplyFit can show your numbers to a coach who also uses the app. Nothing is shared until you choose to share it. Your account has a private eight-character client code, which you will only find if you go looking for it in Plan ▸ Settings ▸ Coach Access. If you give that code to a coach, they can from then on read the following from your backup:

A coach can never see your photos. Progress photos and the pictures you send to the meal checker are not part of this and are never made available to anyone else. Nor can a coach see your saved meals, your favourites, your food searches, the country you are in, or your app settings.

A coach can only read. They can never change or delete anything on your phone, and they cannot sign in as you.

You can end it at any time, without asking the coach. In Plan ▸ Settings ▸ Coach Access you will see every coach who currently has access, listed by their email address, each with a Remove button. Removing takes effect immediately. You can also issue yourself a new client code from the same screen, which stops the old one working for anyone you have not already connected. Deleting your account ends every connection at once.

Because a coach is another person rather than one of our suppliers, we treat this as sharing your data, and we say so on our Google Play data safety listing — even though it only ever happens because you handed over the code.

If you are the coach: the client profiles, plans and notes you create for people who are not connected this way are yours, are stored on your phone, and are backed up under your own account as described above.

4. Progress photos and AI body-fat estimates

These features are optional, they are off until you choose to use them, and the app asks for your clear, separate agreement the first time — because photographs of your body, and an estimate of your body composition, are sensitive health information.

Progress photos

If you take or choose a progress photo, it is stored in your own private area of our storage (hosted by Supabase), readable only by your account. It is not public, not visible to other users, not used for advertising, and not used to train anybody's AI model. A copy also stays on your phone so the gallery loads quickly.

AI body-fat estimate

If you ask for a body-fat estimate, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection through our server to OpenAI, whose model returns an estimated body-fat range. OpenAI processes the image to produce that answer and does not keep it beyond a short abuse-monitoring window, and does not use it to train its models — see OpenAI's API data usage policy. We keep the photo and the estimate in your progress history, because that history is the point of the feature: it is how you see change over time.

The estimate is a rough visual guess, not a measurement and not a medical result. It is not a substitute for a DEXA scan, calipers, or professional advice.

This feature is for adults. You must confirm you are 18 or over to use it. Deleting a progress photo in the app deletes it and its estimate from our servers too.

5. Pro subscriptions and unlock codes

SimplyFit's core features are free. Pro is an optional paid upgrade.

On Google Play and the App Store, payment is handled by the store itself — we never see or store your card or banking details. Subscription status is managed for us by RevenueCat, Inc., which processes purchase and transaction details, a randomly generated app-user identifier (not your name), and limited technical information such as device model, operating-system version, and an IP address used only to work out your country. This is used solely to deliver, restore, and protect your subscription — never for advertising. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.

If you unlock Pro with a code instead, the app sends only that code and a random device identifier to our backend (Supabase) to check the code and make sure it is used once. No name, email, or fitness data is sent with it.

On Huawei AppGallery and other non-Google distributions there is no in-app payment at all — Pro is unlocked by code only.

6. Barcode scans and the AI meal-photo checker

Barcode scanning. When you scan a food package, only the barcode number goes to Open Food Facts, a free public food database, to look up that product. No photo and nothing about you is sent with it. The camera reads the code from the live view; no picture is taken or kept.

AI meal-photo checker. If you photograph a meal to have its calories estimated, that photo goes through our server to OpenAI, and is discarded as soon as the estimate comes back. Unlike a progress photo, a meal photo is never stored by us. The app strips location data (EXIF/GPS) from it before sending. All we keep is a count — an anonymous identifier and a timestamp — so the feature's weekly allowance can be enforced.

7. Anonymous usage counts

The app sends us counts of feature use — that the app was opened, that a workout was finished, that food was logged and by which method. These carry a randomly generated install identifier, the app version, and the platform. They never carry your name, your logs' contents, or anything that identifies you. You can switch this off at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Share anonymous usage.

SimplyFit contains no advertising networks, no cookies, and no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs.

8. What we do not collect

9. How we use your information

We do not sell your data, do not share it with advertisers, do not use it for advertising or profiling, and do not use your photos or logs to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.

10. Legal bases (UK and EU users)

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on:

11. Where your data is kept, and for how long

No online service can promise perfect security, but your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, your photos sit in private storage that only your account can read, and the keys that unlock our database are held by us alone.

12. Who else touches your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We use a small number of providers, each acting on our instructions and limited to its job:

ProviderWhat it doesWhat it sees
SupabaseOur database, storage, and sign-inYour account, backup, and progress photos
OpenAIReads a meal or body photo and returns an estimateOnly the photo you send, only when you send it — not kept, not used for training
RevenueCatManages Pro subscriptionsPurchase details and a random app-user id — no fitness data
Google Play / App StoreTake paymentYour payment details — we never see them
Open Food FactsLooks up a scanned productA barcode number only

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. If SimplyFit is ever sold or merged, your data could transfer to the new owner — we would tell you first, and this policy would continue to apply until you were given notice of any change.

13. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

Under laws such as the UK and EU GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive your data in a portable form, and to complain to your data protection regulator — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in the Philippines, the National Privacy Commission. We would rather you came to us first: simplyfitsupport@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.

Step-by-step deletion instructions are on our Delete Your Data page.

14. Age

SimplyFit is for people aged 13 and over, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live if that is higher (16 in some countries). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger; if you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Progress photos and the AI body-fat estimator are restricted to users 18 and over.

15. International transfers

We operate from the Philippines and serve users worldwide, and our providers (Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Open Food Facts) may process data on servers outside your country — including in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or the EU, those transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, agreed with each provider.

16. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when features or laws change. Material changes get a revised "Last updated" date and, where it matters, a notice inside the app — and if a change means collecting something new about you, we will ask for your agreement before it starts.

17. Contact

Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or your data: simplyfitsupport@gmail.com.
